Once again after midnight, this time I sit with fellow artist Shaheen Ahmed in the lounge of Langhorne Garden Hotel. We chat, reflect on our day and discuss our forthcoming plans whilst I sew a few more pieces. It’s quite therapeutic once the sewing is in full flow, a form of meditation.
Artists Shaheen Ahmed, Dan Auluk, Pauline Bailey, Dilwara Begum, Saranjit Birdi, Mark Anthony Carroll, José Forrest-Tennant and Karen Mc Lean invite you to follow 'blood sweat + tears', an artist-led project for the opening weekend of the Folkestone Triennial Fringe Festival. They will share their discoveries and insights through a series of installations, performances and internventions which addresses issues of identity, visibility, dislocation and transience.
